Reiki treatment consists of laying hands on the body in a prescribed pattern and allowing the energy of life to flow through the hands to the person being treated. Reiki accelerates and strengthens the body's natural healing process and can be used at any time. Reiki may reduce stress and anxiety, relieve pain, increase rates of healing, reduce side effects of chemotherapy and radiation, promote relaxation and sleep and contribute to a sense of well being.
Practitioners at Tam’s Studio uses the Usui [臼井] System of Natural Healing to administer Reiki. In Japanese, Reiki [霊氣] means universal energy and Jikiden [直伝] means direct transmission. Our reiki practitioners attended training at the Jikiden Reiki Institute [直傳靈氣研究会本部事務局], Kyoto, Japan.
The principal reiki practitioner is shihan [師範] and is qualified to teach shoden [初伝] - level one and okuden [奥伝] - level two reiki seminars. Reiki seminar offerings will be announced on our Events page.
